Rickey Smiley wants your vote! While discussing the State of the Union address on Wednesday’s Dish Nation, Rickey exclusively revealed his political aspirations to run for Congress. “I did see my Congresswoman Teri Sewell, if she decides not to run again, people in the city, including the mayor, are trying to get me to run for that seat,” he told Gary, Headkrack and Brat. “I would definitely run for that seat. I’ve always wanted to become a member of Congress.” Sewell is currently the Democratic U.S Representative for Alabama’s 7th district and is up for reelection in November. Now don’t worry, if Rickey were to run and win, he says he’d still rep Dish Nation on Capitol Hill. “You would see me, but I would just go to DC and work. I would have been showing my ass at the State of the Union. They probably would have had to kick me out. I’d have on a big Dish Nation t-shirt and I’d be going ‘Hey,'” he said playfully while moving his arms in the air. And while you may think he’s joking, Rickey wants everyone to know his political dreams are the real deal. “But I might run for that seat though,” he said seriously. Oprah/Rickey 2020?
